Sisley Hydra-Global Hydratation Intense Anti Age

This week I have been trying the Sisley Hydra-Global Hydratation Intense Anti Age face cream.

I honestly cannot say anything bad about this cream. I love the smell of it, I love the texture and most importantly, I love how beautiful it makes my skin.

The cream is quite thick, which at first I was worried about as I thought it was going to be too heavy and maybe even greasy. But it glides onto the skin and feels very light. It was not greasy at all and my skin absorbed it straight away.

'With its unique combination of botanical, mineral and aromatic active ingredients allows Hydra-Global to acts on three levels: plumping up the skin’s moisture cushion, stimulating the synthesis of aquaporins-3 and thus reactivating intercellular moisture circulation and binding moisture to restore the skin’s barrier function. In this way, Hydra-Global helps the skin to regain optimal hydration and a youthful look.'

Although this tester looks small, it actually lasted a good few days. I tried to mainly use this in the morning before putting my make up on, but also tested it one night before bed.

I have to admit, this face cream is amazing both morning and night. When I woke up after sleeping with this on my skin looked beautiful! (And I normally hate my skin in the mornings) It looked smooth and more even, almost like it had been plumped up. When applying before putting my make up on, I had to leave the normal 5-10min gap before I applied my foundation to make sure it was fully absorbed into my skin and again it just made my skin look and feel so lovely.

Let's get down to the price. It's £140 for 40ml bottle. The tester lasted me around 4/5 days using it every morning and one evening.

My thoughts? Buy it! You're never too young to invest in anti-aging skin care products. If you want to look good the older you get, then you need to start using great products now.

Cover FX Illuminating Setting Power

I have been using this over the past few days and wanted to do a quick write up about my thoughts on this product.

This powder comes in two different shades, light and medium. I have been using the medium shade and as you can see from the photos below it really is not that dark. I have very VERY pale skin and it does not show up over my make up.

  • 'This powder is rich in antioxidants to soothe and reduce redness and extend foundation wear to last all day. It also provides moisturizing benefits and controls shine while offering a light luminous finish.'

I have notice a significant difference in the duration that my make up stays on with this. I really don't feel like my make up looks different at all, but then again I don't suffer from redness at all. I do however get shiny spots, specifically on my T-zone, but they appear to reduce when I have this on!

This powder is also so light. If you are worried that applying more product to your face will make you 'cake', then you do not need to worry here. This really does not clog and it will not feel you looking like you have too much make up on.

Price wise : for a 10 g tub this will cost you £28. The product does go sooo far and I think a 10g tub would last you a good few months as you really don't need to apply much to your face to get the full benefits of this.

House Of Fraser Beauty Event

Last week I went to a beauty event at House Of Fraser in Bristol.

The main reason for the event was to showcase upcoming trends and to promote their in-store spa and salon.

The event was called Summer Carnival Of Colour. The bottom floor (all of the beauty counters, nail bars and salon etc) stayed open to host the evening.

There was a range of finger foods and cocktails for all of the guests, and those who brought beauty products also got a little bag of treats.

Each of the counters had their own little display. My favourite was the Clairns counter. They had some lovely cake stands and an area to have a seat and talk about their products.

The in-store hair salon is part of the Aveda group and I believe they have 16 stations for their hair stylists.

We also had a tour around their spa which hosts 3 treatment rooms and a relaxing seating area.

I didn't stay for the whole evening, only around an hour or so. It was a nice event but I don't feel like they planned for as many people to turn up? It was slightly bitty in places but cramped at the salon entrance. Overal it was a great idea, but not executed as well as I would have hoped.

Blush : Benetint and Coralista

I find that to achieve the most natural, but beautiful red cheek, a mix if benetint and coralista are perfect.

Below is a simple walk through of how I apply these products :)

1) my face before any blush application

2) I apply stripes of benetint to my cheek

3) I then blend the benetint using my finger

4) I then apply coralista over the top

5) and tadaaaaa. A natural, beautiful red cheek
